Four-Wire Measurement Technique: Many DC Resistance Meters utilize a four-wire measurement technique, also known as Kelvin sensing or four-terminal sensing. This technique helps eliminate the effects of lead resistance and contact resistance, which can introduce errors in the measurement. By providing separate current-carrying and voltage-sensing terminals, the meter can accurately measure the resistance of small components or conductors with minimal interference.
